STATEMENT

My work is born from my relationship with matter. There is no sketch
beforehand, no closed idea of what I am going to make.I trust that I will catch those forces, those intensities that appear
there, in the matter, in the moment.Both of us, matter and I, come loaded.I am like a collage, or like a shelf, loaded with images, with poetry,
with books (anatomy, philosophy), with music.I am with an outside: painting, drawing, sculpting. That outside
appears, it runs through me, and everything overlaps inside me. Something takes shape that I can trust, and there the process begins.I am still searching for something.

ABOUT

Fernanda Rodrigo (b. 1971, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, installation and performance. At the core of her practice are large-format works in oil and charcoal that explore the body, emptiness and the memory held in matter.She trained at the Ernesto de la Cárcova School of Fine Arts and was a student and assistant of Kenneth Kemble, a central figure of Argentine Informalism; a lineage still visible in her trust in matter, accident and gesture. She also studied sculpture with Aurelio Macchi and developed her practice in long-term clinics with artist Tulio de Sagastizábal and writer Fabián Casas.Since 2007 she has presented more than fifteen solo exhibitions in Buenos Aires and Spain, at spaces including Galería Cuenco Blanco, Oficina Proyectista, Espacio Bajo Belgrano, Fundación Lebensohn and BAP Gallery (Ibiza).In recent years her large-format paintings have been acquired by collectors from the United States who encountered her work in Buenos Aires.In 2026 she is exhibiting at Pasaje 17 (Buenos Aires) and at the Bienal Nacional de Arte (Bahía Blanca, Argentina), and is preparing a solo exhibition at Microgalería (Buenos Aires), opening in 2027.She lives and works in Buenos Aires.
